SIP’s Weiting Sub-district recently saw a variety of Lantern Festival celebrations that combined culture, fun and warmth.
At Weiting Park, professional Wuxi opera performances were staged alongside a market incorporating riddle guessing and handy services, attracting many residents from nearby communities.

An indoor activity offered the participating families a chance to make beautiful lanterns together.

The squares in Guanhu Park and Qingjianhu Community were decorated with hundreds of lanterns bearing riddles waiting residents to solve based on their knowledge on history, literature and common sense of life.

Traditional games like pitch-pot and hoop rolling added to the fun of the festival celebrations, and the tangyuan (stuffed small dumpling balls made of glutinous rice flour) cooking activity enhanced interactions between neighbors.

A special job fair integrated festival elements with career opportunities. In another event, volunteers delivered warm tangyuan to delivery workers.
