Suzhou Dushu Lake Sci-Edu Innovation District in SIP, featuring densely distributed education and research institutions, is strengthening efforts to promote integrated development of education, technology and talent.

The district has been committed to aligning education with talent demand in different industries. Last year, it saw significant increase in higher education institutions’ education programs and enrollment scale, and hosted 32 job fairs to provide more than 20,000 job opportunities to over 18,000 graduating students.
The district has spared no effort to promote application of research outcomes from higher education institutions in industries. Over the past year, education institutions in the district incubated 100 businesses, up 45% year-on-year, and registered technology contracts valuing RMB140 million. Moreover, a number of labs and other research platforms were upgraded or established.
The district has also enhanced efforts to optimize the local innovation ecosystem, including hosting diverse events to support innovation and startup projects and facilitate partnering between schools and firms.
In the next step, the district will push forward a plan to establish 50 new university-enterprise collaborative laboratories and facilitate 100 technology commercialization projects within two years, aiming to enhance higher education’s role in driving high-quality industrial development.
