SIP’s Loufeng Sub-district organized a campaign recently to mark the Learn from Lei Feng Day, an official day celebrated on Mar 5 in the country to call on people to learn from the good deeds of Lei Feng (1940 to 1962), a People’s Liberation Army (PLA) soldier characterized as a model of altruism.

An event was held at SIP Fengtai Assets Management Co Ltd on Mar 3 to provide volunteer services such as applying screen protectors for cell phones, shoes cleaning, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) diagnosis, and massage and legal advice for women.

On Mar 4, the sub-district participated in an SIP-wide volunteer service campaign. Its “Upcycling Workshop” allowed the participants to learn to transform used buttons and idle fabrics into beautiful bags, and a series of games integrated introductions to the sub-district’s volunteer service projects.

Communities in the sub-district also carried out various campaigns to spread and embrace the spirit of Lei Feng, including public space cleaning, theme exhibitions, and volunteer services.
