Communities in SIP’s Jinji Lake Sub-district recently organized a variety of events to celebrate the Chinese Arbor Day or Tree Planting Day that is observed annually on Mar 12.

In the event in Aoyun Community, the participating parents and children read a picture book about trees and made clay trees together.

Zhonghai, Jingcheng, Rongyu, Zhongtang, Tianyu and Jiuhua communities organized a campaign where the participants planted asparagus fern seedlings in pots.

In the event in Xinghu Community, the children and teachers from Huachi Kindergarten planted strawberry seedlings. In the process, the children learned knowledge on the origin of the Tree Planting Day and ways of taking care of strawberry seedlings .
